Participate in the world's first on-chain but no-code gaming tournament - here's how
MatchboxDao is hosting a new season of the highly acclaimed web3 esports tournament called 0xTitans (an evolution of 0xMonaco by Paradigm), combining Solidity coding skills with strategic gaming.
With raving reviews from the first season and overwhelming support from the community, MatchboxDao is bringing more than 70+ teams on 4th June 2023 to compete in 0xTitan season 2 including the defending champion Uniswap, Ubisoft, Polygon, Fantom, Starknet, Ledger, KyberNetwork, AuraNetwork and many more.
To allow fans and other racing enthusiast to participate in the game, the MatchboxDao team decided to develop a metagame around 0xTitan which is no-code prediction game.
First, let’s look at how the 0xTitan gameplay looks like.
Introducing 0xTitans
Each game involves 3 cars (3 teams), and each car is a smart contract for which you have to design the best strategy before the race to win the game.
The winner is the first car that reaches the finishing line
The concept behind 0xTitans can be described as a fusion of Mario Kart and Capture the Flag (CTF). It offers a balanced mix of theory and resource management games, along with Solidity coding skills.
Teams are faced with the challenge of deciding which actions to prioritize during the race. There are various actions to choose from ranging from
shells,
acceleration,
super shells,
bananas, and
shields.
Teams have to consider whether they are focusing on economic strategies, speed/position strategies, or defensive tactics. As the tournament progresses, defensive strategies become more important to prevent being overtaken near the finish line.
Introducing 0xTitans – the prediction game
The live prediction game utilizes live data and numbers that takes place in tandem with the live 0xTitans tournament.
As the tournament progresses through various phases, Skillers have limited windows of time to analyze the latest data and make their predictions.
The goal the game is to determine the winning team in each phase of the 0xTitans tournament.
Skillers earn points by correctly selecting winning teams in each round. Points rewarded are inversely correlated with popularity of the team, as the game designers want to reward risk taker who votes on underdog teams.
For example, if 100 people voted for the Uniswap team, and Uniswap moved on to the next stage, people who bet correctly will get 1 point each as 100 people/100 total points. If only 50 people voted for Uniswap team because they don’t think Uniswap has a chance, people who voted correctly will be awarded 2 points instead (100/50).
